Places to Stay and Hotels in Manchester
Manchester is often referred to as the “Capital of the North” and is renown for its football teams Manchester United and Manchester City, arts, culture and commerce.
The Greater Manchester urban area has a population of over 2 million making it the UK’s third largest conurbation.
Many of the major hotel chains such as Hilton, Novotel, Holiday Inns, Express by Holiday Inns and Jurys Doyle are represented in this city providing a large range of hotels from which to choose.
1 Manchester City Centre Jurys Inn

This hotel has a superb location close to the main shopping and restaurant areas in the city. Football enthusiasts can take the Metrolink from just outside the hotel and be at the Old Trafford ground in 10 minutes.
The accommodation is of three star standard and the spacious rooms are large enough for families. There is a restaurant, Innfusion, and an Inntro pub on site.
2 Novotel Manchester Centre

Novotel also have an hotel in the centre of Manchester. It is an AA 3 star New Generation Novotel. It is very convenient for conferences and exhibitions being 3 minutes walk from G-Mex, MICC and Bridgewater Hall.
In the evening or for leisure visits, you can walk to the city centre restaurants, nightclubs and attractions. The hotel is opposite the gates of Chinatown.
Within the hotel there is a gym, steam room and sauna.
3 Manchester Airport Hotel
If you need an hotel close to the airport, this is an ideal hotel. It is just 5 minutes by free courtesy bus from the hotel to the airport.
The hotel has facilities for business meetings including 16 meeting rooms and there is a gym available for guests.
4 Express by Holiday Inns
There are two members of the Express by Holiday Inns chain in the Manchester area. There is the Manchester Salford Quays hote
l which is surrounded by water near the Manchester Ship Canal.
For leisure visits this hotel is very well located being within one mile of Old Trafford, home of the world famous Manchester Unit Football Club, the Lowry Theatre and the Imperial War Museum.
The rooms at the hotel are large enough to accommodate 2 adults and 2 children.
The Manchester East Express by Holiday Inns hotel
is about 1.5 miles from the home ground of Manchester City football club and within easy reach of Old Trafford, Manchester United Football Club’s home stadium.
Generally the hotel is well positioned for exploring the North West of the country including the Lake District, Morecambe, Blackpool and Liverpool.
5 Worsley Hotel

The location of this hotel in Worsley gives the opportunity to stay outside the centre of Manchester but to remain within easy reach of the city centre. From this hotel it is just a short drive to the impressive Trafford Centre Shopping Arcade, central Manchester, the Lowry Designer Outlet and Manchester airport.
