3 Tee Off at the Mendip Golf Club
This courses offers beautiful fairways with springy downland turf together with well-maintained and challenging greens. A great course but, however you are playing, take a moment to survey the spectacular views which on a fine day reach out over 7 counties including the Welsh mountains, the dramatic King Arthur's Vale of Avalon, mysterious Glastonbury Tor, and across to Bridgwater Bay and Exmoor.
The club offers a warm welcome to visitors.
4 Wells Cathedral
The charming city of Wells is dominated by the spectacular Wells Cathedral and its associated building. The present cathedral dates back to 1180 and is an impressive place to visit. Whilst you are at the Cathedral look out for the famous Wells clock. When the clock strikes every quarter, jousting knights rush round above the clock and the Quarter Jack bangs the quarter hours with his heels.
5 Glastonbury Abbey
Glastonbury Abbey is reputed to have been the burial site for Arthur, the legendary English King. It is an ancient place of Christian worship believed by some to have been the site of the oldest church. For visitors it also offers 36 acres of beautiful parkland. There are duck and fish ponds, a wildlife area, a cider orchard and an award winning museum at the visitor centre. Its peaceful and tranquil ambience make it one of the most restful things to do in Somerset.
