Places to Eat and Restaurants in Cheltenham
Cheltenham is a beautiful regency town in the heart of the Cotswolds. There is plenty to do and see in the town itself but, for tourists and visitors, Cheltenham is also an excellent base from which to explore Bath, Stratford-upon-Avon and, of course, the Cotswold countryside and villages.

There are a number good of restaurants and places to eat in Cheltenham and the surrounding area.

For morning coffee and lunches, The Muffin Man is a popular café. It is located on Crescent Terrace which is adjacent to the beautiful Royal Crescent. Royal Crescent is the earliest of Cheltenham’s Regency Terraces to have survived until the present day. Private bookings for evening meals can be made by special arrangement.

A short walk from the Royal Crescent is Ormand Terrace, Regent Street which is home to the Merlot Brasserie and Restaurant. This restaurant focuses on fine modern cuisine and has a menu which changes regularly. This restaurant is ideally located for visitors to the Everyman Theatre who are looking for a pre-theatre supper. It can also provide a welcome break from shopping – it is close to the Regent Shopping Arcade. Coffee and pastries are served in the morning.

Bottelino's, CheltenhamHeading along the High Street from Regent Street will bring you to St James Street and a well established Cheltenham restaurant - Bottelino’s.

Bottelinos is a traditional Italian restaurant serving a range of authentic Italian food including pizzas, pasta and meat (chicken, steak etc.) dishes. Founded by the late Giuseppe Botta over 20 years ago, the Bottelino restaurant group has grown over the years. As well as the restaurant in Cheltenham it now includes restaurants in Bath and Bristol. The group has built its reputation on the use of quality ingredients.

The Kilkeney Inn, Andoversford, CheltenhamOne of the attractions of Cheltenham for tourists is the beautiful surrounding countryside. Drive West out of the town to the village of Andoversford and you will find a beautiful traditional country inn serving freshly cooked and mouthwatering meals in its restaurant. The Kilkeney Inn is described as “the perfect mix of sophistication, style and traditional values”.

If the weather is good, the Conservatory dining room opens out on to a patio which is the perfect place to enjoy a warm summer evening.
