As the capital of Wales, Cardiff attracts many visitors each year who come to watch major sporting events at the Millennium Stadium or visit attractions such as Cardiff Castle, the National Museum Cardiff, the Wales Millennium Centre or the Doctor Who exhibition. To meet the demands of visitors and locals, there is a huge number of restaurants in Cardiff.
Cardiff Bay is a vibrant area of Cardiff. It has an excellent range of places to eat.

One of those restaurants is the innovative ba orient, a cocktail and dim sum bar. It is based at Mermaid Quay within the Cardiff Bay area. This stylish and sophisticated restaurant has been designed with the objective of meeting the needs of discerning customers.
The menu has been influenced by a range of oriental cuisine. It includes dim sum. Vegetarian options are available. In addition, there is food with a Thai influence and innovative dishes such as the original pineapple fried rice - rice fried with mild curry powder, fresh pineapple, raisin, shrimps, minced scallops and chicken. It is served in a pineapple.
The restaurant also features entertainment chosen to reflect its sophisticated ambience.

A second restaurant in Cardiff Bay is the Pearl of the Orient which offers a range of Cantonese, Peking, Malaysian and Szechwan cuisine in contemporary relaxed surroundings. Dishes which you would find in a classic Chinese restaurant rub shoulders with less commonly found options such as Malaysian whole baked fish in banana leaf.
The restaurant has two function rooms available. The VIP room is equipped for conferences and caters for up to 50. The Verandah is a glazed area which overlooks the Wales Millennium Centre and Roald Dahl Plass and allows for parties up to 40 to enjoy its views. If you would like to book the whole restaurant for a private party, groups of up to 250 can be accommodated.

If you are looking for a Japanese Restaurant serving sushi, then head towards the busy shopping area of Queen Street where you will find Zushi - the first conveyor-belt sushi and noodle bar in Wales.
